Children’s Empowerment
English Storytelling
We also started on a storytelling programme for the children of these underprivileged families. This took off on 6th June 2019 at Fengshan Community Centre in Bedok for also 3 months. Without a doubt, it was very well received by the children and they looked forward to our sharing of Singapore Stories and our personalised games and activities. We have embarked on a storytelling program with SportsHub Library from June 2019 onwards as well. Currently all face to face storytelling sessions are held online due to the pandemic. Face to face storytelling will resume soon.

On the 12th of September 2019, we held a cooking class for children in association with MWS Tampines. After learning to cook a healthy pizza and a fruits salad, the children listened to a nutrition talk and quiz. The children went home with a beautiful gift to start their cooking adventures at home!
Testimony letter to HEN from MWS FSC Tampines :
“On behalf of MWS FSC-Tampines, I will also like to thank you and the volunteers for conducting the cookery class on 12 September. We appreciate the volunteers making the effort to engage and interact with the children. Our children also gave positive feedback that they had a great time. Thank you once again and we look forward to the continuous future collaborations between MWS FSC – Tampines and HEN. “

We also welcome volunteer tutors from the public to register with us. Please contact us at enquiries@hencharitysg.org if you would like to volunteer with us as a volunteer tutor. The various tutoring opportunities are listed here :https://starttuition.sg/volunteer/programme/hen-charity
