Women Empowerment
HEN is focused on empowering the women of marginalised families with ways and means to meet their daily needs by teaching them basic skills for eg interview skills, IT Literacy skills, craft and cooking, exercise to improve their well being or finding for them suitable child minding avenues.
2019
We worked with Beyond Social Services (BSS) to help in the growth and development of a group of home bakers called Bakers Beyond in Tiong Bahru. Our first team building workshop just took place on Friday 3rd May 2019 at Village Hotel, Bugis.
2020
Due to the pandemic and as we couldn’t meet up personally, we held online Zoom Women Empowerment workshops in June and July 2020 to teach these home bakers the skills required to make it out there. Our own volunteers Stacey Lwin and Sujatha Pillai conducted Self Care workshops and also taught them how to be social media savvy when marketing their baked goods and the techniques required to handle difficult customers.
2021
Working in collaboration with MWS Tampines and Thoughtworks IT Solutions, we helped 5 low income women in Tampines to learn Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and GSuite Programs. We also helped these women to navigate the social media to be able to take their entrepreneurial skills to the next level!
